How Information is Shared

Rights of California Consumers

The Right to Know Your Personal Information

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your Personal Information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we may disclose:

The Right to Correct Inaccurate Personal Information

You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate Personally Identifiable Information that we have collected about you and retained. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will correct the personal information at issue on our systems.

We will also instruct any service providers or contractors that maintain the personal information at issue, due to their connection with HGS Partners, to make the necessary corrections in their respective systems.

We may deny your request to correct the Personally Identifiable Information if:
A. We are unable to satisfactorily verify your identity in relation to the information maintained;
B. We are unable to determine if the correction is accurate based on surrounding circumstances; or
C. We are unable to reasonably complete the request – you will be provided with an explanation if this is the case.

We may also delete the contested personal information as an alternative if the deletion is not viewed to negatively impact you; or if we receive your consent to the deletion.

The Right to Opt-Out of the Sale or Sharing and the Right to Limit the Use of Your Personal Information

You have the right to direct a business that sells or shares personal information about you to third parties not to sell or share your information. This is often referred to as the right to “opt-out.” You also have the right to request that a business limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information collected. This can be referred to as the right to limit.

Some platforms will allow you to set an opt-out preference signal that will then be communicated to a business that sells or shares personal information to inform them of your choice to opt-out.

Only you or an agent authorized to act on your behalf may make a request under the CCPA regarding your Personal Information. You may only make a request to know to HGS Partners under the CCPA twice within any 12-month period, and we must be able to verify your identity in order to respond to your request. Your request must:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected Personal Information; and
  • Provide sufficient detail that allows us to understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

Verifying a California Consumer Request

To further protect our clients’ privacy and as required under the CCPA, we must verify each request that comes to us under the CCPA before we supply the information or take the action as requested. To verify your request, we may ask you to provide several pieces of Personal Information that we may use to match with your Personal Information that we already maintain. Please note that requests made through an authorized agent are subject to separate verification of the consumer’s identity. We will only use Personal Information provided in a CCPA request to verify the requester’s identity or authority to make such request. If we are unable to verify your identity, we will explain to you why your identity cannot be reasonably verified in light of the nature of your request, and we therefore may not be able to process your original request.

This section serves as the Notice of Collection we are required to provide California Consumers under California law. Information contained in this section is complimentary to the other information within this Privacy Policy.

    • Personal information covered by certain sector-specific privacy laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the California Financial Information Privacy Act (FIPA), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act of 1994.

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from you and your interactions with us. For example, you may visit our website, fill out the “contact us” form, or you may have contact with our offices or representatives.

The way we use or disclose personal information will depend on the context of your interactions with us and the particular business services HGS Partners is performing. We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:

Children’s Policy
